MGTC Cosmetology Students Perform Makeovers for Peers
Students in the Cosmetology program at Middle Georgia Technical College recently performed makeovers for students in the Dental Assisting program. Debbie Wrenn, program chair for Dental Assisting , and Jolie Martin, program chair for the Cosmetology department, worked together to make the project mutually beneficial for both programs.
“My students are receiving a grade for the services they perform today,” said Martin. “The Dental Assisting students will fill out surveys regarding the customer service they receive and Cosmetology students will be evaluated and will receive a grade based on the feedback. This helps to build the vital customer service skills needed in the Cosmetology industry.”
The Cosmetology Department also offers services at reduced rates to the public. Salon services available include cuts, styles, color, facials, manicures, and more. Services are available during the day and on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings each week during the quarter. The Cosmetology lab is always accepting clients. To make an appointment, call (478) 988-6800, ext. 6913.
