About 2,400 Teens To Attend Health Forum

Approximately 2,400 Houston County 8th graders will attend a teen health forum on Tuesday, March 9.  The program will run from 9:40 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. at the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter Miller-Murphy-Howard Building in Perry.  Students will attend presentations that emphasize the consequences of decisions, and the impact of such decisions on the rest of their lives.  Students from public and private middle schools in Houston and Crawford counties are expected to attend.
 
Mary Therese Tebbe will serve as Master of Ceremonies.  Medical doctors, other health care providers, and educators will present the program.  Presenters, program topics, and scheduled times are as follows:
 
9:40 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.    Dr. Harold Katner: Making Smart Decisions - Effects of sexually transmitted diseases 
10:30 a.m. - 11 a.m.       Karen Stokes: Gang Facts/Prevention
11 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.       Raymond Scott: Drugs and Their Consequences
11:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.       Jason Respert: Coping and Peer Pressure
12:35 p.m. - 1:45 p.m.    Future Now: Your Choices - Messages to Teens in Music/Skits
