The tastefully simple dishes, warm friendly staff, and comfortable atmosphere at China Inn have made this eatery one of the oldest and most successful Asian restaurants in Macon. Owner Peter Wu came to Macon in June of 1987 to help his uncle manage a restaurant. Wu immediately fell in love with Macon, and decided to open his own restaurant. The dream of combining Chinese and Japanese food became a reality for Wu when he opened China Inn to the community in 1991.  Since then, the laid-back-yet-chic restaurant has been serving delicious food ever since.
 
China Inn features Japanese and Chinese dishes, using a combination of simple yet-tasteful ingredients.  “Our most popular dish is the teriyaki,” says Wu.  This purely Japanese dish is cooked on a steel grill.  The vegetables are stir-fried and customers can opt for their choice of chicken, beef, shrimp, or seafood.  The meal is accompanied by Japanese-style yakisoba noodles or fried rice, topped with China Inn’s famous teriyaki sauce.
 
“Our first priority is service,” explains Wu. “Good attitude is also number one…”  For the past 19 years, China Inn has been serving Middle Georgia residents and has continued to experience success as the number one neighborhood Asian restaurant.  The facility has undergone several renovations and currently seats 60 people.  Customers can phone in orders, eat in, or take out their meals.  “We have customers that come in 5 days a week,” says Wu’s wife, Ginny.  “We also have customers that drive from far away.  One customer has been a regular for 10 years.”
 
The family-owned business offers customers a relaxed atmosphere, great food, and an opportunity to sample mouth-watering dishes.  Each meal is cooked to order, using fresh ingredients.  With dishes such as Orange Chicken, Shrimp and Vegetables, General Tso’s Chicken, and Chicken Wings, China Inn has a lot to offer!
