Cherished Children Education Station Students Receive Books Through R.I.F.


The American Association of University Women continued their RIF (Reading is Fundamental) program at the Cherished Children Education Station in Warner Robins with Jane Gramley preparing the children for receiving their free books.

 

Robins Federal Credit Union Announces their Manager and Employees of the Quarter

Each quarter, Robins Federal Credit Union selects three employees that represent the best of the best in each of the following categories: Managers, Support Department Staff, and Branch Staff.  Employees are selected by management due to their outstanding work performance and based on written recommendations from their peers.  The winners chosen for the 4th Quarter of 2009 are as follows: 

“30 Rock” Star and Macon Native Jack McBrayer Headlines Macon Film Festival


Actor and Macon native Jack McBrayer, who currently stars in NBC’s award-winning comedy “30 Rock,” will return to his hometown for the Macon Film Festival (“MaGa”) special screening of Forgetting Sarah Marshall, followed by Q&A with Jack on Saturday, February 20, at the Cox Capitol Theatre at 8:15 p.m.
 

Coach Corwin's Bridal Boot Camp

First Friday Dances Resume at the Sports Hall of Fame on February 5!

The Georgia Sports Hall of Fame’s monthly First Friday dances will resume on February 5th!  In association with dance professional Paula East and the Greater Macon chapter of  USA Dance, the First Friday celebration will be from 8-10 p.m.

Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony Will Be February 20

The 2010 Georgia Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held on Saturday, February 20 at the Macon City Auditorium, 415 First Street.  The 2010 inductees are Al Ciraldo, Ed Everett, Ernie Johnson, Sam Mitchell, Larry Rakestraw, Ron Simmons, and Suzanne Yoculan.  Ticket order forms are available for download from the GSHF website at www.gshf.org.  For more information, contact Ben Sapp, Director of Education & Public Information, at (478) 752-1585 or bens@gshf.org.

Vendor Applications Being Accepted for Dogwood Festival


The Perry Dogwood Festival Committee is now accepting crafter/spacer and food vendor applications for the 22nd Annual Dogwood Festival, to be held April 10-11.

The Perry Dogwood Festival will feature activities for the whole family!  The vendor application deadline is Friday, March 19.  Applications postmarked after this date will be assessed a $10 late fee, and will be accepted only if space is available and based on merit to the show.  Please be aware that the committee is unable to guarantee space assignments from previous years.  Space assignments are based upon order of receipt of the applications, or need of water and electricity, and are made at the discretion of the festival promoters.
