Robins Federal Credit Union Sponsors Warner Robins Chamber Play Day

Robins Federal Credit Union recently made a corporate donation to the Warner Robins Chamber of Commerce as sponsorship for the 2009 Play Day Golf Classic and Super Business After Hours.
 

Matt Arthur Elementary School Children Rewarded for Contributions

Matt Arthur Elementary School students were surprised with a giant cake as a great big “thank you” for bringing in 28,103 box tops and labels.  Each child was rewarded with a slice of cake.  Julie Dimsdale’s and Connie James’ Kindergarten students contributed the most box tops and labels throughout the year, helping generate funds and supplies for the school.  
 

Bibb County Schools Improve on Georgia High School Graduation Tests

Results from the Georgia High School Graduation Tests (GHSGT) show improvements for the Bibb County School District. On the Science section, Bibb County From the 2007-2008 to the 2008-2009 school year, the percentage of 11th grade first-time test takers passing: improved five percent in Science, which was a greater improvement than the state, allowing the district to continue closing the achievement gap; improved two percent in Writing; and improved one percent in Mathematics.

Championship Cycling Weekend Comes To Macon June 13-14

Security Bank Cycling Team and Georgia Cup, in cooperation with NewTown Macon and the City of Macon, will host the Georgia state criterium championship cycling weekend on Saturday and Sunday, June 13-14. 
 
The showcase event is the Saturday afternoon downtown criterium race, a high-speed, intense, spectator-friendly bicycle race of multiple laps on a short course, suitable for the whole family to enjoy.   Master of ceremonies for this event will be Chad Andrews, the nation’s top cycling commentator.
 

Celebrating First Friday's "Sale - A - Bration" June 5

June’s First Friday, sponsored by Robins Federal Credit Union, will bring a “Summer Sidewalk Sale-a-bration” to the streets of downtown Macon on June 5, 2009.  Starting at 5pm, the sidewalks will be filled with sales, live entertainment, art, food and more! 
 

Midsouth Donates to Wesleyan Alumni Fund

Wesleyan College President, Ruth Austin Knox, recently accepted a check from MidSouth Federal Credit Union VP of Development, DeAnn Dent.  The donation went to the Wesleyan Alumni Fund, in support of Wesleyan’s continued growth and development in the Middle Georgia community.

Time Capsules Opened and Buried at Springdale Elementary

Springdale Elementary students hosted a special ceremony on Friday, May 15, 2009 connecting them to the school’s past and future. A time capsule buried on the campus in 1980 was located and unearthed and a new one was buried.
